Moon Knight Is One Of The Best New Shows On Television

I didn't know how I'd feel about Marvel's Moon Knight (starring Oscar Isaac) going into the series. I didn't think I'd hate it or anything - let's be honest, I like just about everything Marvel Studios puts out, so that would be way out-of-the-norm - it just didn't look very MCU-ish to me at first, so I didn't really know what I was getting into.

Through the first two weeks/episodes of the show, it still doesn't feel overly superhero-y to me - but that's more than okay based on what they've delivered us thus far with the mystery of Steven Grant/Marc Spector's multiple personalities. It's actually a positive, I think! Moon Knight has felt like a mix between 'Momento', 'Fight Club' and 'The Following' (if anyone remembers that underrated Kevin Bacon show) with very little of the MCU's key elements present.

Don't get me wrong, Oscar Isaac still puts on the sweet suit and beats the bloody pulp outta some jackals every now and then, and it's still got some of that classic quippy MCU humor the movies/shows are known for, but if you showed the first two episodes to someone who isn't a superhero/Marvel fan, I don't think they'd see it as a superhero show at all; and I think they'd enjoy it quite a bit.

Ethan Hawke plays the main antagonist, Arthur Harrow - a creepy cult leader destined to rid the world of bad by any means necessary, even if it means murdering children - and Oscar Isaac flips back and forth between Marc Spector, an American mercenary, and Steven Grant, a British gift shop clerk, as our hero suffers from a strange form of multiple personality disorder. Hawke and Isaac play off each other brilliantly and Oscar in-particular looks like he's having the time of his life in this role every time he's on screen. Plus, when that suit DOES come out to play, it's pretty sweet....

Get in on the Moon Knight train now folks! It's well worth it!

If all the mythos/lore seem too intimidating to take on for a hero you don't really know, we got you covered…..
