Christian Eriksen Was Selected To Denmark's National Team Again, Will Play On The Same Field He Collapsed And Died On Nine Months Ago

[Source] - CHRISTIAN ERIKSEN has been named in the Denmark squad for the first time since suffering a cardiac arrest on the pitch nine months ago.

The Brentford ace has been in brilliant form since returning to competitive action with the Bees.

Eriksen, 30, will be back in international action in friendlies against the Netherlands and Serbia later this month - with the latter to be played at the Parken Stadium in Copenhagen - the scene of his cardiac arrest against Finland last June

I still can't get over this story. Every time I see that Christian Eriksen plays for Brentford or is getting called up for Denmark it just sort of stops me in my tracks. This dude quite literally died on the field playing in Euro 2020 last summer.

And now he gets that chance. His goal is still to play in the World Cup and getting called up for friendlies is the first step. What's wild though is the fact he'll be playing on the same field it all happened on. How do you mentally prepare to step back on the that field again? It's gotta be emotional just seeing the field let alone playing on it as a player for Denmark again.

I know it's March, but I had to blog this. It's one of the best stories I can remember. Christian Eriksen is a hell of a soccer player too. Awesome to see him playing again. Even better to see him play for Denmark again.
