Kim Kardashian Told Me To "Get My Fuckin' Ass Up And WORK," So I Got My Own Show On Sling TV
THE TIME HAS COME. After...a decade? I've mouthed off online long enough to be trusted with not only a solo hour long show on Sling (THANK U SLING AND BARSTOOL), but an hour long, LIVE CALL IN show, which I have dubbed The Other Line.
The show will premiere on Sunday, March 13th at 8pm EST, on the Barstool Channel on Sling. Lets get into specifics:
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
"Kelly, how do I watch the Barstool Channel on Sling?"
It's easy. Way easier than you think. You download the Sling app on your SmartTV, AppleTV, Firestick, whatever you've got. Then, you go to Sling.com/Barstool and create an account. To reiterate, you do not have to buy a whole cable package if you aren't in the market for that - you just have to make an account. As soon as you have your login confirmed, you just log into Sling on whatever app you're using, and THAT'S IT! YOU CAN NOW WATCH THE SHOW!
"Kelly, your voice is so sexy, is this a Phone Sex Hotline show?"
No! I'm not going to have phone sex with any of you on the show. Will I TALK about sex? Definitely. Sex sells. But the show itself is laid out as follows; each week we will have a topic that I've chosen in advance. I'll put out a graphic on The Other Line instagram page, with a number that allows you to call in and leave a voicemail on the topic (there will be a voicemail segment after the Live Calls to close out the show.) The bulk of this show? LIVE LIVE LIVE CALLS! Live chicks! Live dicks! Live…all of my friends who I beg to call in because I'm worried nobody will call in! You'll be able to call about the topic of the week, or really, about anything you want. I'm a chatty Kathy and the whole reason I wanted this show to be so focused on the phone is…because I'm really good at talking on the phone. Play to your strengths.
"Kelly, you're cool and everything, but I'm only a baby, you're so old, can you explain what "The Other Line" means?"
Naming the show brought a lot of drama into my brain. I probably went through 10 potential names while keeping this one on the back burner, worried nobody would actually get the reference. To assume that would mean I think everyone has experienced call waiting, and has said the phrase "hold on, I'm on the other line." I know call waiting still exists, but it still worried me. Then, I decided I didn't care. This wasn't the only reason I liked the name. Growing up in the 90s/2000s meant that your parents likely had a "fax line" or "another phone line" in your house. Because I'm a spoiled brat, and I would often hog my parents' main phone number line, I was given the "fax line" to use as my own personal phone number. I had a clear blue phone, an answering machine, and honestly, it was the coolest thing in the world. I would talk to my friends for legitimately 4 hours at a time. We called "my" phone, "The Other Line."

"Oh no! I can't watch the show live! Will I ever be able to see it again?"
Yes! Sling shows HELLA reruns. Our Sling guy told me he's going to pop my show into as many open slots as he can. But, never fear - after a few weeks of Sling exclusivity, each episode will make its way to YouTube as well. The majority of the episodes will be evergreen, so you won't have to worry about being weeks behind in watching once they end up on YouTube…however, live is going to be so much better. Nothing gets your blood pumping like debating internally with yourself on whether or not you've worked up the courage to call me to my face. At the same time, nothing is worse than watching a show and WANTING TO CONTRIBUTE, but it being too late! Take advantage of the live airing, and get involved.
I think…that's it! I seriously can't believe this is happening. We've been planning this for months, nailing down the details within the past few weeks, and I'm looking forward to getting through the first episode so I can start breathing and eating regularly again. Thank you to everyone for all of the excitement and words of encouragement, especially my coworkers who have gone above and beyond for me. I'm INCREDIBLY nervous, but as nervous as I am, I'm equally confident that I, we, you will crush this. It'll be a fun, relaxed, cozy show where we get out our Sunday Scaries before we start a new week. I'll see you all on Sunday at 8pm.
