The New Fantastic Beasts Looks Like Another Dumpy Entry To The Post-Harry Potter Universe

Set in the 1930s, the story leads up to the Wizarding World's involvement in World War II and will explore the magical communities in Bhutan, Germany, and China in addition to previously established locations including the United States and United Kingdom. With Gellert Grindelwald's power rapidly growing, Albus Dumbledore entrusts Newt Scamander and his friends with a mission leading to a clash with Grindelwald's army. Dumbledore must also keep track of how long he will stay on the sidelines in the approaching war

Like some of you reading this, Harry Potter was a big part of my childhood. The Books, the movies, I loved all it. I had never read the fantastic beasts books, but I was excited when I heard that we were going to get another look into the wizarding world.

Well, you can imagine my disappointment when I got to the theater and watched 2.5 hours of the neurotic Newton Artemis Fido Scamander(yes, that's read) teaming up with the guy from 'Balls of Fury' to take on the forces of evil.

The sequel was even worse than the original, and it had a movie off-season FILLED with controversy. Ezra Miller got caught on video choking out a lady in Iceland, J.K. Rowling was firing off every anti-trans tweet she could think of and, of course, there was the Johnny Depp situation.  I've blogged about his whole saga with this movie and Amber Heard in general a lot, but I'll sum up how I feel about his situation. However you feel about him and his personal shit, he unequivocally came out of that mess as the winner. Warner Brothers ate a ton of shit for firing him, Depp gained even more sympathy in the court of public opinion and, most importantly, he was paid his full $10 Million dollar contract to NOT be part of a garbage movie. That is a win-win-win for Jack Sparrow.

And boy, does this movie just look like more of the same trash as the first two movies. An overly-CGI'd mess with poorly established, unlikable and forgettable characters. Boo!!! I wish J.K. Rowling just rode off into the sunset after finishing the books so that I wouldn't have to see garbage like these movies or even worse garbage like her twitter feed.
