The National Media's Narrative That OBJ Was "Thrown Out On The Streets By Cleveland" Is Disgustingly Wrong

Kicked out of Cleveland? That is an incredibly irresponsible narrative from the well-respected cohost of the immensely popular podcast Cari and Jemele (Won't) Stick to Sports. The ONLY way to phrase what happened is that Odell Beckham Jr FORCED his way out. Are we just choosing to forget about LeBron James and the #FreeOBJ movement? I mean, am I crazy or did OBJ and his dad orchestrate a plan to be so dramatic at the tail end of his time in Cleveland that the Browns hand was forced to get rid of him? Son made it clear he didn't want to be here on the field, and Dad made it clear by posting an 11-minute video of all the times Baker Mayfield missed his son being open. And through all the toxic drama, the Browns chose to give him a ton of money and release him, allowing him to choose his destination. Odell Beckham  Sr. and Jr. should write the Browns front office a thank you card. They handled it in a way that was much more beneficial for OBJ than I would have. And Cari Champion calls that being kicked out??

And it's not just Cari Champion. This was a real live quote from Chris Collingsworth on last night's broadcast:

"OBJ feels like he was thrown out on the streets by Cleveland"

I threw up in my mouth when I heard that last night. This dude literally begged to be traded. How can you describe what happened as Odell being "thrown out on the streets"?

The national media's misconception / false narrative of what actually happened in Cleveland is so embarrassing. And I'm standing up for my city today. The national media is once again trying to make us look bad, siding with what everyone with a brain knows is an overdramatic, prima donna wide receiver that absolutely has talent. And that's fine, get your clicks and interactions, but to retell his time in Cleveland like they portrayed on the broadcast last night is disgusting. Just like these idiots coming out on Twitter:

I feel like I'm getting trolled by the internet, but this must really be what these clowns think happened. Neither the Giants nor Cleveland "gave up" on Odell. He gave up on them, and they moved on because it was such a toxic, unproductive relationship. 

So yeah, he does have 7 touchdowns as a Ram, which is as many as he had in his entire time in Cleveland. And he did win a Super Bowl, which is more rings than the Browns have in franchise history. OBJ was clearly not the only problem on the football field in Cleveland, but let's not act like the Browns tossed him to the streets. He did it to himself so he could be in this situation. And the Browns obliged to help him.
