A Dutch city has agreed to spend weeks taking down a historic bridge so Jeff Bezos’ new gigantic superyacht can reach the open seas this summer.

The Amazon founder’s 417-foot-long, three-masted ship that cost’s roughly $500 million is under construction in the Netherlands, but the pleasure boat will be too tall to pass under Rotterdam’s landmark Koningshaven Bridge, which has a 130-foot clearance, according to the NL Times, which cited Dutch-language outlet Rijnmond.

As a work-around, the megabillionaire and the boatmaker Oceano reportedly asked Rotterdam officials to temporarily dismantle the iconic bridge, and pledged to reimburse the city for expenses.

There's being comfortably wealthy. There's well-off rich. There's man-child smut blog money. There's oil money. There's fuck you money. And then there's having a 144 year old bridge dismantled so you're $450 million, 417-foot-long super yacht can make its way to the ocean money. Jeff Bezos is getting closer and closer to achieving full super villain status by the day.

People are gonna shit on Bezos here for fucking with a historic bridge, but I think this could be a lot worse. Most importantly, he's footing the bill for the dismantling job which looks to be around $20 million. If he wanted to I bet Bezos could use laser cannons on the yacht and blast that thing to kingdom come without anyone's say in the matter. Instead he's paying for it all and just going on his way — what a guy. Also this is on the yacht building company for making the thing in a place they couldn't get to the ocean from. Bezos paid them $450 million, you'd imagine they could find the right place to build the thing.

Reflecting back on the last few days, it really has been quite the week for the ultra billionaires of the world. Elon Musk battled and lost to a 19 year old college student over his private jet getting tracked via a Twitter account. He's seen better days. Mark Zuckerberg lost 29 billion dollars of his net worth after Facebook took a nose dive in the stock market.

Let me repeat that, he lost twenty nine BILLION dollars. It's nice to be in a position to lose that much money, but I also imagine he didn't want that to happen. And then there's Bezos just pulling off the power moves of power moves. Did I mention this yacht is so big it needs a second yacht attached to it? The sails on the super yacht are going to be too big for a helicopter to land that he needs a side yacht to use as a helipad. Unbelievable.

P.S. Love how Bezos' Climate Pledge Arena is a thing, meanwhile he's about to have this 417 foot yacht plowing through the seas using all the fuel humanly possible.
