David Ortiz Showed Up To The Caribbean Series Mid-Game So So They Stopped Everything To Let Him Give A Speech

Quite the week for David Ortiz, eh? Last week he was inducted into Cooperstown, and last night he decided to make his way to the Caribbean Series, a tournament between the champions of baseball leagues in Latin America. Maybe he thought he was there just to watch the game, no way, the crowd had other plans. They actually stopped the game after the third inning and let Papi address the crowd with a nice little speech. He's never been one to shy away from a microphone or to just wave and say hi, you knew he was going to have a speech. Look at the crowd too, they're treating him like he's in The Beatles. They LOVE Papi. I thought we were going to get a Cal Ripken Jr. type lap around the field with the flag, that's what he should have done. Somehow I think the players loved it more than the fans, after his speech he went over and dapped up a few of them, including Marcell Ozuna. It's a pretty awesome moment letting the crowd recognize the first ballot Hall of Famer. He's like Santa Claus down there, people just can't get enough of him. Cool moment for Papi for sure. How many other guys have basically a championship series game paused for them in the middle of it to give a standing ovation?  I just imagine Tom Brady showing up to the Super Bowl in 2028 and they stop it before the two minute warning and let him talk to the crowd while on the field. What a scene.
