Kevin Porter Jr Learned A Very Valuable Lesson Of What Happens When You Talk Shit To Steph Curry

One of the most confusing parts of this season has been the fact that Steph Curry has somehow turned into a mortal when it comes to shooting the basketball. The greatest shooter on earth is currently sitting at 41.9/37.9% shooting splits on the season. It's by FAR the worst shooting season of his career considering the guy is a career 47/42% shooter. It hasn't mattered much in terms of the Warriors success, but you see what can happen at times is it gives opposing players a certain level of fake confidence. Kevin Porter Jr learned last night exactly why it's a pretty bad idea to talk shit to this man or do absolutely anything that could light a fuse.

On one hand, you love the confidence from Porter Jr. It's a little insane and it immediately backfired, but I respect the approach. For a young guy on a rebuilding team, it's not the worst thing to see as a Rockets fan. Unfortunately, he now knows what happens when you go down this path with Steph Curry. He murders you

You see, despite Steph being in one of the worst slumps of his career, it was only a matter of time before he had a performance to snap himself out of it. You give him any sort of extra fuel to that fire and you are simply asking for trouble. You know that, I know that, everyone knows that. Well not everyone, I guess. Kevin Porter Jr didn't and he paid the price. I'm someone who is always in favor of guys talking shit. The league needs more of it and officials need to stop being babies about it. That's basketball. One side talks shit, the other does something about it. It's what makes the sport fun and a performance like this from Curry is the latest example. Chances are he would have had a good game against the Rockets regardless because they stink, but it was pretty obvious he took whatever Porter Jr was doing personally and made him pay for it. I dunno who couldn't get behind that.

Here's what's pretty terrifying for the rest of the West/NBA not named the Phoenix Suns. The Warriors have been without Draymond since 1/13. Steph is mostly shooting like dogshit this year….and they are still riding a 6 game winning streak with wins over DAL/MIN/UTA/BKN mixed in between two wins over the Rockets. They now have a stretch of SA/SAC/OKC/UTA/NYK/LAL/LAC which is pretty advantageous. They trail PHX by just 4 games and own a 4 game lead over the Grizzlies, so just think of what they'll look like with Draymond back and Steph out of his slump. Pretty terrifying.

So just know, if you want to take the risk of talking shit to Steph Curry, be prepared for the pain that is soon to follow.
