Jayson Tatum Was On His Larry Bird Shit This Afternoon With Another Massive 51 Point Performance

I am fully aware that 99.9% of the sports watching world is focused on football, but not me. Not in this house. In this house we spent our afternoon watching Jayson Tatum go absolutely nuclear

I mean jesus. Remember, this is a dude that was scratching and clawing his way out of an 0-20 slump from three heading into this game. Safe to say that slump is busted! Listen, we all know this team is not where we all hope they would be at this point of the season. Their inconsistency still exists, and that has to be addressed. But you know what? You keep doing shit that only Larry fucking Bird has done for this franchise, I'm going to enjoy it. Lord knows Celts fans needed something positive to focus on for a while. A nice vacation from the usual basketball hell they put us through on any given night. I dunno about you, but I prefer this type of game much more than watching them go scoreless for 7 minutes against the 29th ranked defense in the league.

With Tatum, you knew right away today. From the opening tip to his 51st point, he was basically flawless. Selfish when he had to be, a willing passer throughout, attacked the rim, hit the glass, played great defense, the list goes on an on. Just one of those all around performances that reminds you what he's capable of. It's why not matter how ugly things may get, I'll always believe because this is what he's capable of. This was not a one time fluke. He's done this now on multiple occasions. This is the type of ceiling we're talking about when it comes to Tatum. When he plays to that ceiling, he's a unicorn talent.

That 0-20 stretch may as well been a million years ago. Oh, Tatum is only shooting 31% from three on the year? Coulda fooled me. All I care about at this moment is that 9/14 number. If Tatum learned how to putt when it comes to his three point shooting, he's going to be just fine.

51/10/7. What a monster day.
