NFL Round Up - Conference Championship Sunday

How is this season already over?

We're staring down a long week of building up hype for the Super Bowl. Which won't be hard.

Along with attempting to "hype" (aka revive the dead body that is) the Pro Bowl. Holding it in Las Vegas is definitely a bonus. I'll be there, along with the entire Chicklet's crew, and all the ancillary hockey guys for the Chicklets Cup

Here is everything that happened in the NFL during Conference Championship Sunday.

Cincinnati Bengals at Kansas City Chiefs -7.5
    O/U 54.5

First off, Joe Burrow arrived, DRIPPING.

Then, get a load of this fuckin guy

     Mahomes got started early

    He was impossible to catch

    Fuck Jackson Mahomes.

The Bengals looked completely outmatched in the first half.

Burrow had zero time to get anything going because the KC pass rush was so intense.

Cincy finally got on the board via a screen/broken coverage play with under 2 minutes remaining in the half.

    Tough

    Halftime was a shit show.

Let's check in with the boss man

The second half began with this

And Joe Burrow came out on a fucking warpath.

And the Cincy D making some huge plays

The Bengals came storming back thanks to their defense holding KC to only 3 points in the 2nd half.

    This was very controversial

    Gold

The offensive lines looked so dogshit in this game, KC's fell apart in the 2nd half and it looked like they were running the annexation of Puerto Rico every snap

The Bengals erased an 18-point deficit — tying an AFC title game record for largest comeback — to take a late 24-21 lead on McPherson's 52-yarder.

But Harrison Butker's 44-yard kick as time expired in regulation sent it to overtime a week after his 49-yarder on the final play of regulation did the same against Buffalo.

This one headed to overtime. Where of course the Chiefs won the toss

Mahomes went straight for the jugular…

But the Bengal's secondary, and Vonn Bell came up HUGE.

Which lead to Evan McPherson kicking a 31-yard field goal with 9:22 left in overtime to send the Bengals to their first Super Bowl since the internet was invented.

    This was wicked cool

    As was this -

    Good for Bengals fans.

    Fuck Jackson Mahomes.

Burrow finished 23 of 38 for 250 yards with the two TDs and an interception. … Mixon rushed for 88 yards on 21 carries, including 28 yards on the final 42-yard drive. … Mahomes went 26 of 39 for 275 yards and TDs to Hardman, Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill, and was intercepted twice.

    FINAL-
    Bengals 27
    Chiefs 24

Another AFC Championship loss, at HOME, now begs the question-

    Fun fact -

I love this picture so much

San Francisco 49ers at Los Angeles Rams -3.5
    O/U 46.5

The defenses came to play right out the gate in this one. And the game remained scoreless into the 2nd quarter when Cooper Kupp went Cooper Kupp

    Deebo Samuel is fuckin unstoppable.

    And so fun to watch.

    How do you drop this?

The refs were a mess in this one.

    As was Pretty Jimmy.

    Brutal

    Ramsey is such a clown

    George Kittle is a freak

    And THE MAN

    Ouch

    My God the refs sucked

Can you imagine if this guy played for Belichick?

The drop that changed the season.

49ers safety Jaquiski Tartt dropping a would-be interception and extending a Rams drive that resulted in a 40-yard Gay field goal that tied the game at 17.

The Rams rallied and then slammed the door shut after Matt Gay kicked a 30-yard field goal to break a 17-17 tie with under two minutes left.

It was up to Pretty Jimmy

Donald's pressure forced 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo into a desperation throw that was intercepted by linebacker Travin Howard to seal a 20-17 Rams win.

Shanahan is unreal. There is no lead he cannot blow.

Stafford finished 31-of-45 for 337 yards, two touchdowns and an interception on a goal-line throw to Cupp that was tipped.

    FINAL-
    49ers 17
    Rams 20

The outcome that owner Stan Kroenke had in mind when he built $5 billion SoFi Stadium -- and the outcome the Rams aggressively pursued by loading up their roster with one big name after another -- is one step closer to reality.
