You Want Some Baseball News? Carlos Correa Just Hired Scott Boras To Be His New Agent

As if he wasn't going to get a massive deal before...let me be the first to congratulate Carlos Correa on his upcoming insanely large deal brokered by his new agent, Scott Boras. The most powerful man in baseball now is repping the biggest free agent on the (locked out) market and that is great news for Correa. He already turned down a five-year, $160 million deal from the Astros in November in hopes of a bigger deal. Obviously the lockout has thrown a wrench into that but no worries, Boras will make sure he signs a nice fat deal. The teams that need a shortstop are still pretty limited, the Astros, the Dodgers have been rumored to be looking at him, the Cubs, the Tigers flirted before they got Baez, the Yankees always love buying talent, no one knows where Correa will end up. It's one of the most fascinating free agency cases out there. He shit on Jeter and the Yankees earlier in the season, he turned down and basically said goodbye to Houston, and the Dodgers and their fans all hate his guts. No real clue where he will go.

Bizarre timing on this too, obviously there is ZERO baseball news right now, maybe he was just bored and wanted to switch to Boras. I'm pretty sure that is every MLB player's goal, be signed to the mega agent Scott Boras. I mean the list of clients he has is incredible. Jose Altuve, Cody Bellinger, Alex Bregman, Kris Bryant, Nick Castellanos, Matt Chapman, Gerrit Cole, Joey Gallo, Bryce Harper, J.D. Martinez, Anthony Rendon, Max Scherzer, Corey Seager, Marcus Semien, Blake Snell, Juan Soto, Stephen Strasburg and many more. That is basically an All Star team full of clients.

You know the horse and pony show he puts on for each of his guys, so you know Correa is going to be presented in the highest honor. Boras is going to make sure Correa gets every penny he can get, who knows how much or where it will be from though. Once the lockout is over it's going to be fascinating to see where they go from here because you know damn right Boras is working the phones right now. The devil works hard but Scott Boras works harder. If it wasn't clear before, he's going to the highest bidder, as he should. It's also wild that since there is no baseball news this actually feels significant. Man do we need baseball back. Here are some Correa highlights for your time.
