Congrats To Ben Simmons On Finally Making A Shot ... Maybe

Oh I'm sorry, I didn't mean to get any basketball fans excited. No Ben Simmons isn't playing basketball. He's apparently ... engaged. This is a man who was dating Kendall Jenner, now engaged to Maya Jama who is a TV host over in England. I don't think you can do anything quietly if you were remotely associated with the Kardashian clan. But here we are. (h/t Post)

Simmons is said to have proposed over Christmas, according to The Sun, but has largely kept news of the engagement a secret. A source told the publication the couple “decided to keep the news low-key and tell only those closest to them.”

“Ben adores Maya and has fallen head over heels for her. He picked up the ring on Jewelers’ Row in the diamond district of Philadelphia the day before he proposed,” the insider also said.

Only ring that he'll ever have a chance at getting in Philadelphia, right? God that sucked. I apologize. I just can't get over the entire Ben Simmons saga. The guy was a can't miss recruit. Goes to LSU where his godfather was on staff. He was good there, but the team sucked. Couldn't even make the NCAA Tournament. Okay. It happens, right. No doubt No. 1 overall pick. Now we have him just straight up not playing while the Sixers are 20-16. I mean the guy was an All-Star player, if I told you a team lost someone like that you assume they just flat out suck. 

To think it's all because he passed this layup.

A layup! But who knows, maybe it doesn't lead him to Maya Jama with all his free time.
