Rumors Are Swirling That Steve Cohen And Max Scherzer Both Want Buck Showalter To Be The Next Manager Of The Mets
So I guess Billy Eppler can call it a day for the managerial job search unless he is looking to expense some more lunches on Uncle Stevie's corporate card. It's one thing if your team's 1b Ace wants a certain manager. It's quite another when the king of the entire franchise wants you to hire the same exact manager, even if that Ace is a certifiable psycho that is probably saying this while looking at a picture of Buck Showalter right this moment.
Then again, does this look like the face of a man that bows to the wishes of any man, even if that man is his boss or one of his best players?
Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't have a problem with Buck Showalter managing the Mets. He's made the teams he's gone to better and almost as importantly, the guy who replaced him has immediately won a World Series the season after he left twice. So it's almost a win/win no matter what happens during his tenure. Plus so many people on #MetsTwitter say they want Buck right now, he would probably have until June before everyone is demanding for him to be fired, which I'm pretty sure would be a Mets record.
