Justin Gaethje & Michael Chandler Just Opened Up UFC 268 With An Instant Classic
HOLY. FUCKING. SHIT.
That was probably the best fight I've ever seen live - I can't think of one off the top of my head that beats it.
Justin Gaethje vs Michael Chandler went EXACTLY as advertised - fireworks from the jump without a second of breathing room. Gaethje is just an insane as we thought, and Chandler is EVEN TOUGHER than we thought, if I say so myself. He ate some VICIOUS shots (including one that dropped him brutally in the second round) and just kept coming forward, throwing piercing body shots at Justin, and even hitting some flipping takedowns! It was like a god damn superhero fight!
Justin Gaethje got the unanimous decision victory in the end - and should get the next shot at the title after Poirier - but there were no losers in this fight. I think Chandler knows that too....
Go out of your way to watch this one - especially the first round - if you missed it. I'm talking about a true instant classic here. Maybe Fight of the Year as well.
