Leonard Williams Is The Latest New York Athlete Upset About New York Fans Booing Their Bad Team

Oh hell yeah, let's get another round of boo debates started up in the New York media with one of my teams! The best thing about New York sports fans is that if you tell them you don't like booing, they instantly stop doing it.

Like I said during #ThumbsDownGate with Javy Baez and the Mets, I don't usually think it's worth booing a player if they are struggling because it's a zero sum game. The player isn't going to suddenly try harder or play better because he's getting booed. However, Giants fans weren't booing a player today or even just today's team. They are booing the last five years of absolute horseshit football that has played out in front of them since that infamous boat picture was taken that has led to the Giants being tied with the Jets as the worst team in the NFL, along with watching the surviving member's of this year's team get waxed 38-11 at home.

I understand where Leonard Williams is coming from when he says he wouldn't boo a salesman if he was struggling at his job. But if that salesman worked for a company that was the worst at what it does in its industry for five years, he wouldn't be getting booed. He would be out of a motherfucking job because his company would be out of business and have a million one star reviews on Google.

Luckily for Leonard, he not only works in the NFL that is making cash hand over fist but he works for the New York Football Giants where there is no real accountability for anybody from the top of the org chart to the bottom. The only people that seem to demand results are the fans paying a comical amount of money to park in the parking lot and sit in seats only to see their team get boat raced every single season before they start looking at mock drafts before Halloween. At some point along the way of riding that road to football irrelevance, a bunch of boos may occur. However if this shit keeps up, those boos at that God awful stadium will be replaced by either depressing silence or loud cheers for the opposing team because this fanbase has had enough.

The good thing for Leonard and any other member of the Giants is that they can stop the boos by doing one very basic thing: Winning some goddamn games. Granted, the injury report and upcoming schedule make that seemingly impossible. But that's literally all they have to do to shut the fans up.
