'The Book of Boba Fett' Officially Has A Release Date(And A New Poster)

The journey of legendary bounty hunter Boba Fett continues following his reintroduction in The Mandalorian.

With the wait times I've associated with Mando, I just assumed this wasn't going to end up coming out this year, so I'm pumped wwe have a concrete date. ICYMI, Mando S2 reintroduced one of the most beloved Star Wars characters, Boba Fett, back into the live-action universe. Temuera Morrison, who played Jango Fett as well as the Clones, rightfully had the role and he RULED.

His storyline in Mando ended with him and the sharpshooting Bounty Hunter Fennec Shand killing that slimy worm freak Bib Fortuna, and taking up the throne of Jabba the Hutt on Tatooine. The big question everyone had with his reintroduction was very simple: How did he survive getting thrown into the Sarlacc pit in 'Return of the Jedi'? Apparently, this series will explore what happened to him between that point in the Star Wars timeline and his appearance in Mando.

There are a few things that excite me, and should excite you about this.

1. I was nervous about the now 60 year-old Morrison taking on the role, but they clearly made it work. Also, Ming-Na Wen is incredibly badass as one of my favorite new additions to the SW universe, Fennec Shand. If you watched 'Star Wars: The Bad Batch', you can get a little more story and action from her as well.

2. Robert Rodriguez joining the Executive Producer team along with Dave Filoni and Jonny Favs. Rodriguez directed the episode of Mando where Boba Fett was reintroduced, and it was incredibly distinct from the rest of the episodes that season. I assume that he is got a big say in shaping of this series.

3. Ludwig Göransson joining as the composer. This dude is a monster and the next big thing in the composing world or whatever you want to call it. He did the incredible music for The Mandalorian, Black Panther, Creed, Tenet, and more.

This wrapped filming back in June, and I believe that the original plan was for it to be filmed back-to-back with Season 3 of Mando. From my understanding, they either still haven't started to film S3 or they are just about to start. So instead of these running together, which was the original plan, it looks like we will be getting this 8-episode series while Mando is in post production.
