Vegans Big Mad Over New Study on Impossible Burger

Kinda ironic that a Vegan company that wants to save animals did a test on rats and ended up hurting the rats with food supposed to save animals.

This is what was said which I will translate from scientish into English

FSANZ has not assessed all the proteins potentially found in SLH for safety. FSANZ notes that not all batches of the soy leghemoglobin protein (LegH) expressed in Pichia pastoris “contained the same proteins, nor proteins at the same levels". FSANZ states that “The most common Pichia proteins present in the LegH Prep have been identified and characterised". Given that even trace amounts of protein have the potential to cause anaphylaxis, FoE/GeneEthics' submission says, "We consider it important that all the proteins produced be identified, characterised and compared with known allergens."

Allegedly, some proteins in Beyond Meat might be toxic or cause allergic reactions.

The proteins in question that were specifically used were the proteins that caused the fake meat to look fake bloody.

This whole fake meat thing is getting pretty crazy. There are people actively trying to create fake meat in a variety of ways including growing tissue in labs. Who knows how people are going to react to animal tissue that never was attached to an animal but we will see.

The unfortunate thing is that the veggie burgers might not actually be as good for the environment as we thought…
