R.I.P. To Chicago House Legend Paul Johnson
Block Club- House music legend DJ Paul Johnson died Wednesday, weeks after being hospitalized with coronavirus. He was 50.
Johnson’s agents and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed his death, which also was announced on his Facebook page.
This one’s gonna be a head scratcher for a lot of people, to which I’ll say be a decent human being a save the witty “who?” comments. But for those that are into Chicago house, and true house music, Paul Johnson was a household name.
Guy got his hands on a passed down pair of tables when he was 13 and started djing, helped pioneer what eventually turned into one of the biggest genres in the world, and dropped an absolute banger right at the turn of the century.
