Ohio State Becomes The First School To Partner With Players And Give Them An Avenue To Make Money Off Jersey Sales
This is awesome. Just another big domino to fall in the new wild west of college football that includes the NIL. Selling jerseys with the number of the teams best player has been common practice for pretty much every major college football/basketball program for years. Obviously the loophole being not putting the actual players names on the back but there’s a reason so many people at Ohio State were buying number 5 jerseys from the bookstore all those years. It was because of Braxton Miller. Or so many number 15 jerseys, it was because of Ezekiel Elliott. It was going on all over the country and the players weren’t getting a dime off it until now.
Good for Ohio State blazing the trail on this and giving players every opportunity to make money and even assisting them in doing so. That’s just what first class universities like Ohio State does, they take care of their people. This is only starting with jerseys but is gonna lead to other products to profit off selling as well like trading cards, bobble-heads and even video games down the line if the NCAA games ever make a comeback. I feel bad for all the guys who missed out on a lot of potential earnings but I’m glad at least the players of today are gonna get the piece of the pie they deserve. All top level High school recruits out there take notice. Come to Ohio State and the program is gonna do everything in their power to help make you a better football player, a better man and and a richer man. God bless the Supreme Court.
