Arkansas Officially Made A Push For The Best State Thanks To This New Law Cracking Down On Ding-Dong Brains Who Drive In The Left Lane

[4029] - A new Arkansas law to tighten the rules on left-lane driving takes effect Wednesday, July 28, 2021.

The law has stated that cars can't stay in the left lane of a multilane roadway "whenever it impedes the flow of other traffic."

Act 1090 changes that.

Starting Wednesday, vehicles are banned from the left lane of a multilane highway unless one of the following four conditions are in effect:

  1. When overtaking and passing another vehicle.
  2. When all other lanes are closed to traffic.
  3. When all other lanes are in disrepair or otherwise undrivable or unsafe.
  4. When preparing to exit on the left.

But you can't drive so slow that you "impede the normal and reasonable movement of traffic."

Oh fuck yeah. Why this isn't a law, I don't know, everywhere is beyond me. Arkansas just shot up my power rankings for states though. I've never been there - was supposed to go with Bench Mob in college for a game, but it's just impossible to get to. No thank you to that drive and it was college. Way too poor for a flight. But I am someone who drives way too much. It's what happens when I live 8 hours away from my hometown where my in-laws live and 9ish hours from my parents in Charleston, SC. And you know what sucks? Driving.

I mean I don't mind driving, I hate everyone else when I drive. At the top of that list though are a special breed of assholes. Those who drive in the left hand lane without passing anyone, without going the speed limit or the normal 5+ over. They just are carrying on like they aren't wasting everyone's life and time. It's not for going the speed limit. Get in it to pass others and move to the right. These are the same assholes that slow down in the left hand lane to let a truck get over and slow it all down even more. I'm not saying they should be in jail, but they should never be allowed to drive or interact in public if you do that.

I never wanted to be a cop or anything like that. When I was a kid I wanted to be a basketball coach and as an adult I wanted to a blogger. That said, I'd LOVE to be a cop right now in Arkansas strictly to enforce this rule. I'd be pulling people over left and right just to prove a point at how much people suck at driving in the left hand lane. This might be my biggest grievance in the world, maybe behind people who stand up when planes land.

Shout out Arkansas - now make this a federal law.
