WATCH: Foo Fighters' Debut As New Bee Gees Cover Band 'Dee Gees'
It was announced a few weeks ago that for Record Store Day, the Foo Fighters would be putting out a vinyl-exclusive Bee Gees cover album, entitled: 'Hail Satin' - because why the hell not - and we've finally got a officially released taste of what the Dee Gees sound like! Oh and spoilers: they sound fuckin great; especially if you're into the Bee Gees, I think (and if you are, check out the documentary released on HBO Max earlier this year - it's great). Who knew Dave Grohl's falsetto could get so high?!
I was lucky enough to be there for the LIVE debut of this cover at MSG last month....
....which was followed up by 'Everlong', hilariously.
I mean Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters kicked the year off with a face melter of a 'Mississippi Queen' cover in tribute to Leslie West....
….and here they are putting out a fuckin disco album! That's versatility folks!
Plus an all-time level of not giving a fuck what people think and doing what you want. You gotta respect it.
Dave discussed the disco influences all over his playing on Nirvana's 'Nevermind' recently with Pharrell on 'From Cradle to Stage' which I found fascinating, as well….
Moral of the story? Do what makes you happy. Even if it's making a Bee Gees cover album with your friends.

P.S. Give the Bee Gees 'Best Of' a listen if you never have before - it's fantastic….
