The Celtics Plan Of Recruiting Bradley Beal Is Off To A Fantastic Start
Yes. This is what I crave. We all know that while the goal of Team USA is to win the gold medal, what I really care about is what every fellow Celtics fan should care about. Who is Tatum going to recruit. Being a star in the NBA isn't just about what you're able to do on the floor, it's who you can get to join you. Brad obviously gave Tatum and head coach Ime Udoka their assignments, and given what Bradley Beal's future might look like, I imagine he's at the top of the list. How's it going you might ask? Fanfuckingtastic if you ask me

You heard what Beal had to say in that clip. Him and Tatum have a special relationship. Lifelong best friends. Look at how happy they are together. Listen to this love fest
There's a reason Brad has made the moves we've seen this summer and how they keep talking about financial flexibility. It's important that they made their trade before this year's draft so they can be completely free to move next year's first and don't have to be locked into the Stepien rule. It's clear who the target is. As a reminder, this is Beal's situation
Trading for him gets complicated, and creating potential cap space next summer isn't a cakewalk either, but if there's one guy who you would think could get Bradley Beal to turn down that $37M player option, it's his best friend. You figure out the rest later.
Personally? I go the opt out route rather than a trade. You're going to have to give up Jaylen if you trade for Beal early, which defeats the whole purpose of this plan. Maybe you can convince Beal so sign for less than the max. It's happened before. Get him in a good situation with a coach hopefully he enjoys playing for with Team USA, the ability to play with his best friend and maybe they find a way to make the money work. Beal has made around 144M in his 9 years as a Wizard, and that's just on the court money. Entering his prime years, maybe he values things other than money. It's worth a shot.

I'll concede, I am stretching things however I possibly can in order to fit my dream. You are too. That's what this time of year is for. Just remember, NBA history is on our side. Super teams, NBA MVPs, historically they have come from Team USA Olympics runs. There are crazier pipedreams than two best friends teaming up in the immediate future while the team is actively doing what they need to do in order to make it all possible.
All I know is this recruiting assignment is off to a fantastic start and it should only get better and better once they share the floor together and get to play off one another. I cannot wait.
