Taika Waititi Finally Addresses the Threesome Makeout Session He Had with Rita Ora and Tessa Thompson
Back in May I posted about the viral photos of Taika Waititi having a 3-way makeout on a hotel balcony with his girlfriend Rita Ora and Tessa Thompson, whom he directed in Thor: Ragnarok.
That would be these photos:
Later, as Hubbs reported, the suits at Marvel were none too pleased one of their best talents was spotted doing something every straight male in the world would sever a limb for the chance to do. So they "reprimanded" him for conduct unbecoming, since they're a Disney-owned studio trying to market itself to kids or whatever.
Since then, it's been nothing but silence from the man at the center of the storm/controversy//gorgeous woman sandwich. Until now.
Source - The Oscar-winning filmmaker, 45, said in a recent interview that the viral pictures didn’t bother him because he did “nothing wrong.”
“I think in the world of the internet, everything goes away pretty quick,” the “Thor: Love and Thunder” director told the Sydney Morning Herald. “And also, ‘Is it that big a deal?’ No, not really. I was doing nothing wrong. It’s fine.”
Waititi, you sly dog. I see what you did there. "Everything goes away pretty quick" on the internet. People see a thing. Forget about that thing. And then move on. Like, for instance, that time I was getting macked on by two insanely attractive women half my age. Remember that? It happened what? Six weeks ago? Yeah. Everyone forgot about that in a hurry. But while we're on the subject, I did have two hot actresses all up in my stuff. And each other's. Just as a reminder.

Well played, good sir. Believe me, any guy I know would be doing likewise if he were in your shoes. I'd be starting every interview on the Thor: Love and Thunder publicity tour by shoe-horning it into the conversation.
Interviewer: "How excited are you about your new film?"
Me: "I'm not here to discuss my wild all-nighter where I made out with Rita Ora and Tessa Thompson. So please don't bring it up. But I'm as excited about this new movie as I was about that 3-way I had with Rita and Tessa, believe me."
I guess we could expect nothing less from the guy who pulled off the part of a lovable, soft-spoken, blue rock monster in the Marvel movies and played Der Fuhrer as a hilarious imaginary friend to a Hitler Youth boy. Some people are just born with the gift of a deft touch. And it served him well in keeping this story going.
All that said, it's important to give Waititi credit for something else here. His unwillingness to apologize is all too rare in this world right now. Even when, as he correctly pointed out, he did nothing wrong. You have to appreciate the fact that he's not doing the insincere, "I used poor judgement and I'm sorry if my actions offended blah blah blah," thing, just to placate Disney. All he did is the thing anyone of us who has a thing for Ora and/or Thompson would do, if only we were celebrated, award-winning filmmakers instead of common slobs living vicariously through 45-year-old party animals.
Here's hoping the next celebrity who goes viral for harmless sexual hijinks shows the same kind of backbone and refuses to bend the knee. In the meantime, keep that story alive, Taika.
