Ole Miss Senior Tim Elko Hit TWO Bombs on a Torn ACL in an SEC Tournament Game

One of the best stories in sports right now is unfolding in Oxford, Mississippi. On April 5, Ole Miss star Tim Elko tore his ACL in a mid-week game against North Alabama. He took some time off before eventually trying to make whatever sort of comeback he could in his senior season.

After a while, it became apparent Elko might be able to pinch hit and eventually DH this season. So after only a month on the shelf with a torn ACL, Elko returned for the Rebels and has been able to hit and at least gingerly make his way around the bases.

But Wednesday night, Elko produced one of the coolest moments in sports this year when he homered not once, but twice on one ACL in the SEC Tournament.

I really wish Ole Miss had taken down Vanderbilt after Elko's go-ahead home run, because that would have made this story that much more incredible. Unfortunately for the Rebels, Vandy came back and scored two in the bottom of the ninth to take the game, but that doesn't diminish what Elko has been able to do in his unbelievable comeback.

Elko now has 13 home runs in just 33 games this season. And on a torn ACL, he looks poised to produce a big hit or two for Ole Miss in the NCAA Tournament.
