Clean Up in Aisle Two: Derrick “The Beast” Lewis Made a Bloody Mess
Large and I had the pleasure of sitting down with Derrick "The Beast" Lewis on Barstool Breakfast ( R.I.P. Breakfast) before one of his big fights. Make no mistakes about it, he is a different animal. A lot of times fighters come in to promote their up coming fight, you kinda already know what to expect. Threats and violent promises aimed at their opponent, along with heart felt stories on why they chose such a gruesome profession. Nobody really knows how the fight will turn out. They have to sell the fight and when you are selling a fight, you have to promise there will be blood. It's America and that's what we like.
The one thing that stood out to me during our interview was this man was all out fucks. He didn't give a shit about anything or anybody. He loved to beat the shit out of grown ass men. Selling the fight at times was last thing on his mind. I asked him during our intereview why did he choose fighting, considering he was a former football player. He said it wasn't violent enough. He enjoyed punching people in the face. Everytime he would smirk or at least attempt to smile, it looked like somebody was jabbing at his nuts with back of a hammer. I honestly preferred him to remain stone faced. Bottom line, he was nobody to fuck with.
After reading an article about The Beast taking justice into his own hands when he discovered some dirt bag was trying to break into his car, it made me giddy and some what inspired. My wife has been leaning on me about getting a gun. Even my close friends have been advising me to get one as well. They send me videos of fathers and mothers protecting their famiiles while thugs try to break into their homes. Even recently an active shooter was on the loose at a mall in Wisconsin. While a father was waiting in the car as his daughter and wife were shopping, some psychopath decided to shoot up a mall which forced him to run in the mall with his pistol in attempt to go save them. Thank God they all made it out safely.
I don't like guns. I've seen a lot of horrific things happen due to gun play. I honestly think if you have a pistol on you and danger is at your door, your pistol will be your first option. Knowing "The Beast" handled this dumb fuck with his fist and not a pistiol, gave me hope. Using a gun isn't alway the answer. Now I'm happy the thug didn't have a weapon and The Beast didn't get hurt. The scumbag went to jail and will be handled accordingly in the court of law. More importantly, The Beast got to go home to his family and still remains one of the baddest mother fuckers to ever grace the octagon.
