It Turns Out Memorizing A World Map Isn't Completely Useless

I'm in a weird phase of life lately where I am trying to learn new things. All the US Presidents in order, US map, state capitals, what the hell is crypto, will artificial intelligence destroy us all, etc. One thing I recently took it upon myself to learn is an entire map of the world.

Now, I know what you're thinking. "Wow that's an incredible waste of time. You're a loser. Do you have anything better to do with your life?" I cannot argue with any of those points. But Sporcle can be a fabulous place to waste time when you're bored. And hell, learning can even be fun when you come up with little, memorization techniques. For example...

-Andorra is "andorrable" and really small between Spain and France.

-Zah is from Zimbabwe. That's how I remember "Za"mbia is right above Zimbabwe.

-Left to right under Saudi Arabia is Yemen then Oman, memorized by shouting out "YO!!!"

-Malawi kind of sounds like Miami and is kind of in southeast Africa, just like Miami is in the southeast of the US

-Left to right is Haiti then the Dominican Republic, remembered as HD (like high definition)

-It goes Norway then Sweden then Finland, abbreviated NSF, just one letter shy of the classic NSFW abbreviation

-Guinea protects Sierra Leone. I don't why this makes sense to me but it does

-And Togo and Benin can be confused, but Benin actually looks more like a "T" in its shape, so it's the opposite of what you'd think. That can admittedly be a little confusing to remember. But I was able to do it under the bright lights.

Now there was some controversy over if this weird talent(?) of mine can actually be considered trivia.

I don't what exactly it should be classified as, but as a competitor I found something I could take advantage of and used it to help our team's chances. With the abillity to double and potentially steal it from our opponent, this could be a 3 point swing every match. Will it be enough to carry us through the tournament? Tune in to our match Thursday against The Experts to find out.
