I Got The Chance To Talk With Pretzel Queen Dot from "Dot's Pretzels" and She Was Nothing Short Of Amazing

I wrote a blog a few weeks ago about how addicting these fairly new Dot's Pretzels were and the response was BOOMING.

People that had tried them before confirmed they were full-blown addicts like myself. People that had never heard of them went online and found a way to order them, and echoed how delicious and addicting they are.

The fine people at Dot's reached out to me and sent a thank you from Dot herself.

I asked if I could get 15 minutes of her time and she was king enough to oblige.

I got to ask her about how she started her family business literally from her home kitchen by herself. What the growing pains were like transitioning to a "commercial" grocery store kitchen where she'd bake non-stop during the stores off-hours and employed her husband and son.

I got lucky that her husband Randy was actually at the office and we got him on camera to talk about being the most popular man in North Dakota and being the official taste tester.

Turns out Dot isn't just the Queen of Pretzels, she's got books of recipes she keeps on her at all times, and supposedly makes a pretty badass BBQ sauce.

Without giving the entire interview away, we discussed how the company is still a small, family-owned operation, that aligns itself with other small, independently owned businesses like Ace Hardwares around the Midwest. I asked her about her plans for world domination and we unveiled her newest secret weapon, the insanely addicting "Honey Mustard" style pretzels Dot's just dropped.

If you thought the original were crack, wait til you try these babies.

Dot is on a warpath and won't quit until she's queen of the whole snack food game.
