Chrissy Teigen Unretired From Twitter Less Than A Month After Quitting It

3 Weeks Ago:

Today:

Welcome back to The Bird, Chrissy! I don't know what an app like Twitter's protocol is for unretirements, but Chrissy seemed to nail it by throwing up a comeback message while also deleting the initial tweet in the seven tweet thread she wrote announcing her retirement.

I imagine there are a ton of people on both sides of this, either YASSS QUEENing Chrissy for coming back to the platform like Jordan or clowning her for being unable to be online. But that's what happens when you announce your retirement from a free social media app and then unretire from it in less than 30 days. Actually that probably goes for retiring and unretiring from anything in less than a month.

To be clear, I don't blame Chrissy one bit for the retirement or unretirement. There's a reason Twitter has grown into this MONSTER app that is essentially the digital social gathering space of the internet. The rush that comes with every Like, Retweet, and Reply from complete strangers is as real as any drip of dopamine just like the metaphorical gut punch you feel when some anonymous rando says some of the most horrid shit ever about you or a gang of people trying to cancel you from existence for something you wrote in 280 characters or less. It's an absolute shitshow in the best and worst ways.

You can still follow what's going on in the Twitter world with a burner, but you can't experience those dizzying highs that come with those terrifying lows and creamy middles without your own account. I love my #TwitterFam with all my heart and couldn't imagine a world where I didn't get flooded with pigs in a blanket pictures at any given moment. We have all been addicted to that godforsaken app for years and remain so even if it sucks now that there is a massive chunk of people on there that are either outraged about everything or outraged about the outrage now.

Now we obviously wait for the inevitable re-retirement followed by the un-re-retirement because as someone who has followed legends like Brett Favre and Mike Francesa, I know exactly how these things work. And since I was told Chrissy is the Mayor of Twitter, I expect everything to play out the same for her. So once again, welcome back to Twitter Mrs. Teigen. You can check out any time you like but you can never leave!
