Mads Mikkelsen Has Officially Joined Indiana Jones 5 And I Have Officially Started Busting

Following the news Phoebe Waller-Bridge had landed the female lead in the next Indiana Jones movie, Lucasfilm has found Harrison Ford’s next co-star as Mads Mikkelsen is set to join the next installment. James Mangold is taking over directing reins from Steven Spielberg, who still is serving as a producer and is very much involved in various elements of the film. Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall and Simon Emanuel will join Spielberg as producers. John Williams, who has worked on every score in the 40-year-old franchise including its iconic theme, also will return as composer.

ICYMI, the Indy 5 train is getting into full swing. And let me note: I understand why some of you may be hesitant. Indy 4 was fucking terrrrrrrible and plenty of people are getting sick of remake/reboot/late sequel shit. That said, Let me offer you with a counterpoint by the name of director James Mangold.

I'll reiterate what I noted when he first signed on: Besides directing some great movies in '3:10 to Yuma' and 'Ford v Ferrari', he made what was easily one of the best comic book movies ever made in 'Logan'. Something important that he did with 'Logan' was wrap up a beloved (and aged) action characters story in an incredibly satisfying fashion. THAT is why you should be excited for this. Mangold knows the reverence we have for the character of Indiana Jones and he knows how to close the book on a character in a way that will give us all a sense of closure.

Now, as for the addition of Mads, this is fucking awesome. He is an absurdly smooth, sexy and silky individual that is fantastic in basically every role he has ever done. He obviously is better known as a villain, and I would assume that he is going to be one of the main antagonists in this as well. Him and Phoebe Waller-Bridge should have some very smooth dialogue, so look forward to that. Also, watch some of Mads other work like Valhalla Rising, The Hunt, Casino Royale and Hannibal. Also, his performance in 2020's 'Another Round' is unreal. That movie just hit Hulu and I'd highly recommend it.
