NSFL: Russian MMA Fighter Gets His Finger Ripped Clean Off His Hand During A Match, Continues To Fight

Source - Khetag Pliev, a wrestler and MMA fighter from Russia, lost his ring finger in a fight in Philadelphia on Thursday night. In a gruesome and comic scene, according to ESPN, the PA announcer asked fans to hunt for the finger before it was found in his glove.

Pliev lost the finger in a Cage Fury Fighting Championship matchup against Devin Goodale. He blamed Goodale, who was credited with a win, for the injury.

“In the second round, he caught my glove with one hand and held it,” Pliev said. “I felt my finger snapped. He kept pulling my glove and my finger snapped. We kept fighting. When the second round was finished, I see my (bone) was out in the open. I wanted to keep fighting, because I felt like I had this guy. But the doctor saw that and stopped the fight. "

What. the. fuck. How was that guy still standing? How was he so calm? How was not bleeding out all over the place? I have so many questions. I mean look at this...(*warning: it's disgusting)

Alright here it is...

Told you it was gross. His finger is just straight up gone. You can hear the announcer say "Wait what am I looking at here" before they realize it's missing. The good news is it got reattached…

But still, how does that happen? Apparently they had trouble finding the finger once they realized it was missing too…

For several minutes, nobody could find the missing digit! Event promoter Rob Haydak told ESPN there was a mad scramble to try to help locate it … with the PA announcer even having to ask fans in the 2300 Arena stands if they'd seen it!

"It was a surreal moment," Haydak said.

Eventually, Pliev's finger was found tucked away in his glove -- where it had been the entire time -- but, here's the crazy part … Pliev did NOT immediately go to the hospital to have it reattached!!!

And that's not even the craziest part of the story. The craziest part is the fact that Pliev begged to keep fighting after the fact…

Haydak says Pliev actually begged to continue the match … and even though officials wouldn't let him, he still stayed in the ring for the post-fight announcement, where Goodale was rewarded with a TKO decision. "It was crazy," Haydak said. "He didn't even flinch. He was getting ready to do the [official] decision and I was like, 'Uh, guys, get him out of the cage and go put his finger back on.'"

What a lunatic. It's not like there was big money on the line or anything either, he just simply wanted to keep fighting. He's even appealing the results of the fight so it doesn't fuck up his 5-1 record. The whole thing is insanity and it makes me want to throw up. Best of luck to Pliev with the finger and even better of luck to whoever fights him next, they're going to need it.
