The NCAA Continues To Keep All Of Us Safe - Reportedly Shut Down A Donut Shop's Plan Of Making Buddy Boeheim Donuts Where Proceeds Go To Charity

[Source] -  To celebrate Syracuse Men's Basketball's Sweet 16 game on Saturday, Glazed & Confused is offering '"Buddy Buckets" donuts, featuring SU basketball star Buddy Boeheim. A percentage of the proceeds will benefit the Boys and Girls Club.

You know, you gotta hand it to the NCAA. I truly don't think they get enough credit. They saw a problem and swiftly made a decision on it. Thank you, NCAA. Who cares about silly things like any rulings involving programs or NIL rights or meeting with players about NIL. You see a donut shop trying to use Buddy Boeheim's face on it, you step in. You squash that shit right away. Oh the Boys and Girls Club? That little program? Find your own way to raise money for your charity, pal. At least that's what I assume Mark Emmert says as this comes across his desk.

Honestly, it's just hilarious at this point. This is a PRIME example of where name, image and likeness can step in. Buddy Boeheim has been a star so far in the NCAA Tournament. Dude turned into the best shooter in the world and has the last name. Syracuse shop is taking advantage using that knowing they'll be able to sell some shit, which is smart on their part. Even smarter they were going to give some money to charity. A win-win in the business is what we call that. You know how else it's a win? That shop would be able to give Buddy Boeheim money for, you know, using his face. Even if it's $500, that's Buddy's money. But the NCAA doesn't want to deal with that because it's STUDENT-athletes. That $500 needs to go to textbooks, Buddy.

But don't worry about the NCAA. They don't need your applause for keeping everyone safe here. They will just keep plugging along and blocking out the haters. Who cares that anyone can have any fun? You know the old saying, not all heroes wear capes.
