It's Day 1 Of College Basketball's Championship Week And We Already Have Absolute Mayhem All Across The Country

Today is a 'quiet' day in college basketball. When you think of this week, you think of 13+ hours of college basketball. You think of a zillion games all over the place. We just have 11 games today. That's NOTHING. The two title games were even on at the same time. But it's another day of a fucking bloodbath across the country. We start the video above.

A buzzer beater for Oral Roberts to beat No. 1 seed South Dakota State in the Summit. Gotta be honest, I was cheering for ORU here. The world needs Max Abmas in the NCAA Tournament. The dude can go drop 40. He's leading the country in scoring at 24.6 per game. A legit buzzer beater too on a weird looking tip.

Then we had two tickets to the NCAA Tournament get punched. First was UNC-Greensboro holding off No. 7 seed Mercer. Shit, they almost didn't cover. UNC-Greensboro as a 5 point favorite, up 8 got a steal only to miss a dunk with 10 seconds left. I can't believe Mercer didn't hit a three.

Then you had No. 4 seed Appalachian State upset No. 1 Georgia State as a 7 point dog.

Get ready Michigan fans because App State is going to be a 16 seed and there's a 100% chance they put them in Michigan's bracket. Already prepare for it. Pretty damn impressive to win 4 games in 4 days. Dustin Kerns is going to be a big time coach one day. Second year at App State and he's in the Tournament. Impressive as shit.

YOU WANT MORE UPSETS? Fine. How about No. 8 Elon making the CAA title game? I legit feel for Hofstra who won the CAA last year to end a long ass Tournament drought only for coronavirus to hit.

But Elon straight up kicked their ass in the second half. The CAA was going to be wide open with James Madison losing Matt Lewis, the conference POY. Also didn't help Jamie Luckie sucks at his job, but at least they got an apology!

Shout out Elon though

More upsets? Fine. We'll go to the MAAC (shout out Clem's Siena Saints). How about No. 11 Rider catching No. 6 Canisius by two?

In the Horizon top seed Cleveland State took the lead with a minute to go (and held on) with this play.

And even as I write this, Gonzaga is only up 14. Weird day for sure. Best fucking time of the year. If we're getting mayhem like this in day 1 of this week before the big conferences tip just get ready.
