Happy Birthday To "The Quiet Beatle", George Harrison, Who Would've Been 78 Years Old Today

Happy Birthday to the late George Harrison, born on this date - er, actually, yesterday's date - 78 years ago in Liverpool, England.

I feel like I SHOULD now point out that George Harrison kinda had two birthdays: one today, on February 25th, and one yesterday, on February 24th. For most of his life, he celebrated his birthday today (on the 25th), but in 1992, he was quoted in an interview with Billboard saying, "I only learned recently after all these years that the date and time of my own birth have always been off by one calendar day and about a half hour on the clock."

As it turns out, he was born sometime around 11:50pm on February 24th, 1943 - opposed to 12:20am-ish on February 25th, which he had spent his whole life thinking - so he's got a double birthday! Imagine that? So people just kinda say, "Fuck it!" and celebrate 'The Quiet Beatle' on both! I love it, too - I think if anyone is deserving of that extra celebration, it's George Harrison.

I won't get all preachy on ya, though, don't worry - I'll let George, his music, and his legacy speak for themselves, and leave it at, "Happy Birthday and thanks for all the great music!"
