Beer Pong Now Has An Expansion Pack, And I'm Sort Of Intrigued

FB - If you think classic beer pong isn’t as challenging as it used to be, you might want to look into Mountain Pong. A new Kickstarter campaign is boasting a new concept that takes the time-honored drinking game to another level. Mountain Pong consists of two uniquely-designed cupholders that the drinks are placed in. While keeping the original six-cup base, three new elevated levels are added to make things a little more challenging.

I’m not crazy about this, but at the same time I wouldn’t kick it out of bed for eating crackers. Beer pong has grown stagnant for me. It’s boring. There’s not enough social interaction during it, most people suck, and the game barely changes. Adding an expansion pack to it picks things up a notch.  I like the added skill factor, and I like that you have to complete one level before you move on to the next. Should definitely be penalized for hitting a cup on a level you haven’t reached yet too. The biggest problem with this is the 6 cups on the table. You need to allow for bad beer pong players to drunkenly knock over cups. Can’t have them all compacted in there, severely gives clumsy and overly drunk people an unfair advantage. But all together, I like the innovation here and I could see people playing this in their dorm rooms.

PS: I’m not a hardo that is like “the only drinking game I need is drinking.” Get lost if you say that. I don’t care how old you are, drinking games add fun. You don’t have to like every game, but for the most part drinking games add an element of fun to any pregame. The best is the Mario Kart drinking game where you have to finish your beer before the end of the race. So you have to pay attention to what lap you’re on, how much beer you have left, where you can best play with only one hand on the controller, etc. Takes a ton of skill and strategy, because you don’t want to be in the lead and end up in the water going around the last turn because you have half a beer to chug.
