Tristan Thompson Hopes The Cavs Retire His Number And Hang His Jersey In The Rafters

Are we serious right now? I had to double check this quote was actually real. Because the Tristan Thompson I know, even in his absolute best year, averaged 12 points per game. I know he was an important part of that 2016 Championship team, but uhhh, so were a lot of other people. Obviously Kyrie, LeBron, and Kevin Love...but even JR Smith started more games for the Cavs that season. We putting up Iman Shumpert and Richard Jefferson, too? Blasphemy.

Let's be clear: the ONLY way Tristan's number gets retired in Cleveland is if LeBron James says we have to. That's the only reason he got signed to an $80 million contract by the Cavs too...

I hope I'm not coming across as anti-TT right now, but to think your jersey gets hung in the rafters is so lost and out of touch that I can't even allow a fan favorite like Tristan to say it. If a jersey is hanging in the rafters, you should know who it is without having to put a name on the back. Look up next time you're in Cleveland. 23 is LeBron. 25 is Mark Price. 22 is Larry Nance. If you put a 13 up there, people would say who? Delonte West?

Who's the more famous Cavalier? Tristan Thompson or Delonte West? I mean, the dude was a warrior on the offensive glass, and he was a walking double double at times. But are we really talking about THIS guy?

Come on Tristan. I love you man, and you helped bring us a title, but you might be more known as a Kardashian than a Cavalier when it's all said and done….
