Besides Blogging, Surfing A World Record 100 Foot Wave Is Probably The Coolest Thing You Can Do As A Human

There's not many things cooler in life than surfing and people knowing you can surf. The second a girl knows you can surf, it's panty soup day at the diner, extra sloppy. But it's even more impressive if you aren't just a surfer, but you've surfed a 100 foot wave in Hawaii.

And I know, I know...I know what you're thinking: "But Nate, you've done thousands of internet blogs, that's as cool as it gets", and I know many people would agree with you. In fact I bet that Jay Alvarez guy would trade his life in a second for mine. Why be the "jumps out of planes, surfs all the waves, fucks all the hot girls" guy when you can be "makes stupid jokes on the internet, doesn't leave his apartment for days at a time, isn't sure what sex feels like" guy instead? Grass is always greener, Jay, but I know you're not happy doing this:

Absolutely not.

But was I was saying, I think surfing 100 foot waves is about as cool as it gets besides, and a pro surfer did that over the weekend, perhaps shattering a world record in the process:

TMZ - Pro surfer Makua Rothman successfully rode a wave that was estimated to be about 100 feet tall over the weekend … and the insane ride -- which some believe is a world record -- was all caught on video!!

The drop-in went down in Hawaii on Saturday … when Rothman and some of the rest of the country's best big wave surfers hit up a famous area known as "Jaws" in Pe'ahi to tackle some gnarly swells.

At some point during the day, though, Rothman beat out the other surfers to catch a Holy Grail type of ocean ride -- tackling a wave that was estimated to be between 80 and 100 feet high!!

Surf industry officials close to Rothman tell TMZ Sports the wave might very well be the tallest ever surfed -- beating Rothman's previous record of around 66 feet.

So as a blogger, all I can do is tip my cap to Makua Rothman for a job well done. Sure he didn't have to put in tags for SEO or create a thumbnail, but riding a 80-100 foot wave is pretty sick nonetheless.
