Wake Up With Jacqueline Bissett
Yesterday i posted the legendary car chase from the Steve McQueen classic “Bullitt.” But in doing so, I neglected to mention his wife, played by Jacqueline Bissett. Which is a glaring omission on my part. Her acting career began in the 1960s, with roles like Miss Goodthighs from the James Bomd movie no one remembers because it didn’t have Sean Connery. Her IMDB page is still listening new credits as she’s into her 70s. And yet she still doesn’t get listed among the all time smokeshows the way she should. Those eternal beauties like your Marilyns, Sophias, and Racquels. But she deserves to be. I’d put her peak up there with anybody’s.
And speaking of peaks (I wasn’t going for tuhe sexual double entendre there but I’m leaving it in), at the height of her powers, Bissett starred in “The Deep,” which was Peter Benchley’s follow up to “Jaws.” It featured a diving scene so wet t-shirtty that I probably can’t even post it here without running afoul of the Areola Police. So here’s a link to it instead.
In my all time smokeshow draft, she's off the board in Round 2 or 3 at the very latest.
