Every Reaction To When Someone Says "I Haven't Seen Caddyshack"

It happens every time. And I actually have seen "Caddyshack" and enjoy it quite a lot.

But even when I was a kid and my dad, who wouldn't have let me watch it at that age anyways, would still give me this lecture. It's an odd thing we as humans do whenever another one of our kind *shockingly* hasn't viewed, done, or enjoyed the same things you do.

Then following that shock the desire to then force your favorites and things you enjoy onto them never fails. I'm guilty of it. So are you. Someone replied to this video "this is what I get whenever I tell people I haven't seen Star Wars movies". I would then proceed to be the guy portrayed in the video above albeit on a sliiiightly lesser degree. The thing about something like Star Wars is it's such a part of the "zeitgeist" at this point you're not watching Star Wars JUST to be the "I haven't seen any of the Star Wars movies guy".

Same could be said for Marvel movies, any of the franchises.

The worst part about this, because I have members of my immediate family and friends who aren't big movie buffs, is that when you then finally get them to watch "Caddyshack" or whatever classic movie you're forcing upon them, they're never EVER going to like it as much as you. The buildup is just too much for them to be able to live up to.

Especially for a movie like Caddyshack. It was made over 30 years ago. Humor, movies, entertainment has all changed so much that if you got your 26 year old brother-in-law to sit down and watch Caddyshack for the first time now, he'd chuckle a few times but it wouldn't have near the same affect as it did on you.

Remember that next time someone hasn't seen one of your classics so you can continue to enjoy it in all it's glory on your own.
