After Making The Dumbest Mistake Of The 2020 Season, Liberty Finds A Way To Take Down Coastal Carolina

Liberty-Coastal Carolina was awesome tonight...it almost seemed like a preview for a G5 playoff.

Liberty was in the lead for 95% of the game thanks to Auburn transfer Malik Willis at QB....Gus Malzahn messed up a bunch at Auburn, but not giving Willis more of a shot should not be forgotten.

Why I, and I think a lot of people, love college football is it is how dumb it is sometimes. The ending of tonight's game was the perfect example. RB Joshua Mack had an awesome game (127 yards) only to make the dumbest mistake of the 2020 CFB season:

It truly doesn't make sense what happened there. On the play before we did what he should've done there: took a knee! What went through that man's head, I have no idea. Did Hugh Freeze tell him to get closer to the goal line? That wouldn't make sense....I wouldn't put it past Hugh.

This caused gambling twitter to go crazy as the spread closed at Coastal -6.5 (most had Liberty +7 if they were on the Flames). No way Liberty could not cover this right? Liberty started OT with a field goal....Coastal went 3 & out and attempted a FG to extend the game into a 2nd OT. That didn't work out:
