Nathan Fielder And Emma Stone Will Star In A Series From The Directors Of 'Uncut Gems'

Emma Stone is to star in half-hour comedy The Curse after Showtime handed the show from Nathan Fielder and Benny Safdie a series order.

The La La Land actor will star in the series alongside Nathan For You star Fielder. It was created by Fielder and Uncut Gems director Benny Safdie, who will also star. His brother Josh Safdie will exec produce via their Elara Pictures banner, alongside Fielder and Stone, who exec produces through her Fruit Tree banner. A24 produces

The genre-bending comedy explores how an alleged curse disturbs the relationship of a newly married couple as they try to conceive a child while co-starring on their problematic new HGTV show.

Nathan Fielder is, without a doubt, one of the funnier brains in the game right now. Anything he is involed in is going to be worth a watch, including the recent HBO MAX series 'How To with John Wilson' which is an extremely entertaining watch.

The trailer really doesn't do it justice. This show is an incredible series of digressions with amazing footage of the weirdos that populate this great city of New York.

Anyway, Fielder is great on his own, but adding Emma Stone into the mix adds a whole different level to the potential. Beyond being a fantastic actress in her own right, she has extremely good comedic timing that I'm sure will make this show that much better. How her sense of humor will mix with Fielder's weirdo, ANUS style humor is TBD, though.

If these two names weren't enough, this series is also coming from the Safdie brothers. They are the directors of 'Uncut Gems' and also the underrated 'Good Time'. If you weren't a fan of the former because of the anxiety inducing nature of it, I suggest you watch the latter. Arguably R-Pats best performance as an actor. The Safdies have this fantastic grimey nature to all their work that I think will make this concept work well past that bare synopsis we were given.

This show is going to be must-watch IMHO.

We actually had a chance to interview The Safdie brothers after 'Uncut Gems' released and it was a fantastic time. You can listen to that here:
