RUSSELL WESTBROOK WAS TRADED FOR JOHN WALL! IN THE REAL WORLD! THAT REALLY HAPPENED!

Wow. I don't even know what else to say. John Wall for Russell Westbrook has been floating around for a few weeks, but that seemed more like "Hey wouldn't that be funny those contracts kind of match why not?" Welp, now we're here.

It's been about 20 years since I remember seeing John Wall playing in an NBA game. Now, for the first time since his pro career started for Coach Cal at Kentucky, he finally can wear red. It's a big day. Westbrook is now on his third team in three years. A man who looked like he was going to play his entire career for the Thunder after Kevin Durant left him high and dry is now on the WIZARDS? What a cruel twist of fate. Russ doesn't deserve that. He goes from Houston to DC, James Harden to Bradley Beal.

I can't make heads or tails of what this means for Houston. From one angle, a truly healthy John Wall next to Harden would be filthy. Absolutely filthy. However, we have no idea if that guy exists anymore. It's 2020, we're on the precipice of 2021, modern medicine should have him feeling right. But until we see it on the court it remains an unknown as of this moment. If he isn't, if the real prize for Houston here was the first round pick, then this is yet another signal of rebuilding right before the Harden trade. As I'm writing this I just remembered the Rockets signed Boogie. Now I'm happy Boogie and John Wall are reunited at last. That was a live look-in to the Mick Man's brain in real time for the delight of you, the reader. I guarantee you wont find that type of analysis anywhere else on the world wide web.

And oh yeah, that whole Russ and Brad Beal backcourt I referenced a few moments ago? Yeah, that's not built to last. Bradley Beal is OUTTA there, bubba. Russ is going to put on quite a display of hatred and vengeance this year, I have few doubts. In Kevin Durant's own backyard no less! I'll always love Russ. I don't care about his flaws. He's a Strong Safety playing point guard at the highest level and he won an MVP playing as such. He deserves better than the Wizards.

But I'll weep for Russ on my own time. For now, let us rejoice in the fact that John Wall and Boogie are together again at long last.
