Jake DeBrusk Gets A Two Year Bridge Deal From The B's

JD is baaaack. The last piece of the RFA puzzle has been solved, with the Bruins giving Jake DeBrusk a new two year bridge deal with an AAV of $3.675M. I honestly think this is a great deal for both sides, it was a tough campaign for JD last year in his contract year but he was still one goal shy of hitting 20 for the second straight year in the midst of a pandemic. While his consistency has been an issue I still think he's a player with tremendous upside and hopefully a 2 year bridge deal will help not only him (he gets a bit of a raise now, can prove it and cash in) but the team as well as the B's will be more equipped to pay him the raise he wants in a couple years. He was in trade rumors galore this offseason but he's the best you got on the wings after 63+88 (probably why he was in such rumors), unless he was getting you a massive piece back (top 4 D) I just didn't see it/didn't think the B's should have given up on him. Luckily for JD he gets a 2 year deal with plenty to prove.

B's have about 3ish million in cap space. Will they use LTIR on Marchand and Pastrnak to begin the season? TBD. Still enough change go out and get another winger, IMO oh and even better... Zdeno Chara is still unsigned...

'Tis the SZN!
