Today In 2020 Sucks: Joe Burrow's MRI Was Worse Than Expected As It Revealed Burrow Not Only Has Has A Torn ACL And MCL, But He Also Suffered Additional Structural Issues In His Knee
Fuuuuuuuuuuuuck man. This news isn't exactly a shocker given how we saw Joe Burrow when he was last on the field yesterday or what he tweeted shortly after he left the field.
But it still doesn't suck any less. Out of all the players in the NFL, I feel like Joe Burrow has one of the highest approval ratings in the league for players despite being a rookie that hasn't even played a whole season. There's just something so likable and cool about that dude.
I suppose doing this after putting up one of the greatest college football seasons ever and winning a National Championship could have something to do with it.
Oh yeah and joining Pardon My Take while still drunk after winning said National Championship was pretty awesome too.
Which makes today's news all that much more of a bummer for an awesome guy like Burrow as well as Bengals fans who lost their last true stud 1st overall pick QB that could save them from yearly misery to a devastating knee injury that included a torn ACL (not to mention their 1st overall draft pick before that in Ki-Jana Carter who tore it in his very first preseason game).
You always hear how the advances in the medical field make ACL tears not as catastrophic as they used to be. But that shit still isn't a picnic and any type of structural issues don't help matters one bit.
Here's to Burrow making a full recovery and Cincy loading up on nothing but offensive linemen in all 7 rounds of this draft to keep Burrow upright for the rest of his career once he gets better because everyone was already scared for Burrow's well-being long before yesterday's game.
P.S. Damn you Schefter for not only delivering this news but also tagging Ben Baby in it, which is a name that made me giggle by reflex. No grown man should be named Ben Baby. That's just a fact.
