Creed 2' Director Steven Caple Jr. Will Direct The Next Transformers Movie

Following a lengthy search, Paramount Pictures and Hasbro Studios have set Steven Caple Jr. to direct the new Transformers pic in the reinvented universe. Insiders add while negotiations have yet to begin, he is the top choice among studio execs and producers and a deal should close in the coming weeks. After meeting with several top execs including Paramount Motion Picture President Emma Watts, the studio saw Caple as the best fit for the franchise that the studio chose to revamp at the top of the year

ICYMI, There were 2 new Transformers properties announced a few months back. One animated and one live action. Caple would be doing the Live-action version. If you're unfamiliar with Caple, he did 'Creed 2' as well as smaller hits like 'The Land'. We actually interviewed him a while back for the former, and he is a very insightful dude. He told us about his fears trying to follow up not just the Rocky universe but being an immediate follow up the amazing movie that was 'Creed'. He also broke down parts of the film that I didn't pick up on that made me appreciate the movie a lot more as well:

What I like about him as a director is his ability to direct struggle and fighting against odds. He is also great at intimacy and human connection, something which was totally lacking from Transformers until 'Bumblebee'. This is obviously a very different animal than he is used to, but I'm excited to see Transformers making a comeback and getting away from the garbage late-stage movies. That sweet, sweet sound of the transformers actually transforming? Absolutely nothing better, Boom.

That is, nothing except the sound of a M1 Garand PING
