PHIL HAWES JUST DEMOLISHED A MAN ON LIVE PAY-PER-VIEW

Phil Hawes has had quite the long journey to his UFC octagon debut tonight on Fight Island, but HOLY SHIT - he didn't waste a second once he got there! WHAT A GOD DAMN KNOCKOUT!

I've been following the career of Hawes fairly closely for a while now, because he's from my tiny hometown of Little Ferry, New Jersey, and went to high school with my siblings and everything (I believe he's even been over my house for family parties and whatnot), and it's amazing to see him finally getting his moment under the lights here. 

For years, he was hyped by Jon Jones as one of his toughest sparring partners, but just had a few tough bouts/matchups that never allowed him to realize the potential that was put under him. Now tho, with a fresh start, and the skillset he has - I think he could be a real problem for this division.
