Jamie Foxx Is BACK As Electro For The Upcoming Spider-Man Sequel

Jamie Foxx, who played classic Spidey villain Electro in the Andrew Garfield-starring The Amazing Spider-Man 2, is in final talks to reprise the role for the latest Spider-Man installment, starring Tom Holland and being made by Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures.

I'm admittedly not a huge fan of the Garfield-lead Spider-Man movies. It really didn't have much to do with Garfield himself, actually. I think he is almost too good of an actor for the type of comic book movie director Marc Webb had in mind. Ever see him in 'Silence' or 'The Social Network'? Dude can fucking act his balls off. I also think he really enjoyed the opportunity and was passionate about it, which I always love. Then again, I'm just basing that off PR goodwill stuff like his introduction at comic con and clips like this:

I just found both movies, particularly the second one, to be sort of bland. The second movie had a lot more issues, specifically FISTING it full of too many villains. This lead to Jamie Foxx's version of Electro sort of getting the short end of the stick. If he delivered the same exact version of Electro, I wouldn't be that excited about it. But Foxx is an incredibly talented multi-hyphenate, so I'm sure this version is going to be a big improvement on its predecessor. ROLL THE TAPE:
