Facebook - The Potomac Nationals players and coaching staff will be wearing special Saturday Night Live themed jerseys on Saturday, May 30th. The Spartan Cheerleaders sketch jerseys will be auctioned off through a silent auction during the game, and winners will take home the autographed, game-worn jerseys at the conclusion of the game. The jerseys are part of the SNL Night at The Pfitz, which brings with it a celebration of 40 years looking back at the sketch comedy and variety show touchstone.

Taco, burrito, what’s coming out of your speedo? There we go! The PNats doing theme night right. Sure, they are also doing a Star Wars night this year like every other minor league baseball team on this here Earth and any other Earth, but flipping the script and also having an SNL night is good shit. I’ve long been on the train that minor league baseball gimmick jerseys have gotten way too predictable. It’s all Star Wars, all the time now. They become as Ann as the nose on Plain’s face. Spartan Cheerleaders is a great new one. And their Godfather jerseys were the coolest I’ve seen in a long while:

More creativity from these minor league clubs, the better. Gotta give the people what they want. Gotta get them going.

PS: I think the PNats also do all you can eat tacos on Tuesdays. They know whats up.
