Ellen DeGeneres Delivers A SUPER Buttoned Up Apology In Her First Show Back Since Being Exposed As A Nightmare

Logos, ethos, pathos - she hit all three. Must be nice to have a PR team and a teleprompter, huh? To be honest I'm glad this bullshit is over with. I was getting sick of writing about it. You can read the entire saga here, but long story short, she and her executive staff were absolute nightmares to everyone on their team. Something she masterfully avoided really talking about in her apology. She did, however, say that she gets, "sad, mad, anxious, frustrated, and impatient at times" so at least there's that. Overall it was pretty bulletproof. You know an apology is good when you end up feeling bad for the person apologizing.

Will this permanently impact Ellen's reputation? I think so, but at the end of the day I don't care. No one other than her former staffers do. People have real life problems and Ellen's alleged mistreatment of her employees is not one of them. There are bigger fish to fry.

Best of luck to everyone involved. Hopefully season 18 goes off without a hitch. The good news is the bar is set low so there's a lot of room for improvement. Now here's a clip of Tim Dillon ranting about the initial backlash. Enjoy...
