Matt Wallace Having His Caddy Tend The Flag And Then Chunking His Chip Shot Is All Of Us

First things first, I would kill for that result. That goes without saying but I wanted to say it anyway. The title of this blog was sort of making fun of Matt Wallace but I'd love nothing more than for my chip shots to end up on the green. My chips either go two inches or two hundred yards with no in-between. It's why I have tried to #NormalizePuttingFromOffTheGreen. It mitigates the risk of chunking the shot or blading the shot.

It's why I ended up jarring this bomb putt in Australia

(yes I will use any excuse to post that video again)

But with all that said, Matt Wallace's caddy tending the flag and then coming up woefully short was a very funny visual. It's like when you wait for the fairway to clear and you top it. The bottom line is, if you're a weekend hacker, don't tempt the golf gods. Be confident out there but don't think you're better than you are. That's a recipe for disaster. Matt Wallace has an excuse because he actually is a professional golfer and there was a decent chance he was gonna hole that. It just didn't go his way that time.
