Respect The Specs! Rodrigo "Hot Rod" Blankenship Is Officially The Starting Kicker For The Indianapolis Colts

WOW! The kicking competition in Indy has finally ended and I'm very shocked. It seemed like you couldn't go wrong with either decision, but I really thought Chase McLaughlin was going to win the starting position. He performed well when Adam Vinatieri got hurt towards the end of last season. I even had the opportunity to workout with the special teams this summer at Butler University to witness Chase drill some kicks right down the middle.

I'm 100% confident he will be picked up by another team. As for Vinatieri though, I'm assuming this is the end of an era. Vinny has been with the Colts since 2005! That's crazy to think about. I wonder if the GOAT will sign with another team or prepare for a well deserved retirement life. Either way, it's going to be very weird not seeing #4 wearing blue and white.

If this decision says anything, it says that you gotta "Respect The Specs". Hot Rod has come a long way from standing out in college football with his goggles to becoming a starting kicker in the NFL. Truly a living legend. I can't wait to see this stud shine next Sunday against the Jags. Go Horse baby!
